God Made Each of Us Brave Enough to Face the Future

Apr 12, 2023

We're about to start a five-part series on facing our fears and learning how to develop the courage that we need to accomplish our dreams.

The first thing I hear when I teach about the courageous mindset is “I don't have the courage to do this”. It doesn't matter what it is, someone thinks they don't have the courage to face an immense obstacle in their life. Where do you find courage? How do you muster it when fear threatens to overwhelm you, and you feel like cowering in a cave of safety?

One greatest example of courage is the story about David and Goliath. The biblical story of David and Goliath is often interpreted as a tale of personal courage in the face of overwhelming odds. It's seen as an underdog story, with David as the archetypal underdog--a self-confident, independent young man who was brave enough to fight for what was right and rely on his own strength and skills rather than conform to conventional tactics. David was courageous, but it was a derivative virtue. When he faced Goliath, David relied on his faith in God to give him courage.

There's a Goliath of your own. The crowd of negative thoughts and fears that seem to come at you each day are the same ones David faced when he was tempted by Saul and had to fight Goliath. You're not alone.

This series will help you uncover your inner level of bravery, no matter what obstacles you're facing on your journey through life with God.

Deuteronomy 31:6
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
