We all know that reading the Bible daily is very essential specially to us as Christians people. It is important that we have a daily devotion not just to say that we read it every day, but it is also a way of getting closer to God.

Sadly, some of us cannot be able to do this as if it one of the hardest thing to do every day. Why is that? Because we have other things or task to do whether it is planned or not, and we have to deal with it. Or maybe, just maybe, you are tired or you are just lazy to do it.

But let us always know that since it is very important we should motivate ourselves in doing it. There are no standards in setting a daily devotion with God. You just have to carefully plan it and ensure that your plan will be executed. Just take a deep breath and relax, Jesus does not want you to panic, trust the process and you’ll get there eventually.

Some people thinks that a Christian life has a long list of dos and don'ts. Doing such things like daily Bible reading is not an obligation but a privilege. Because it makes as draw closer and nearer to God.

Daily reading of the word of God is more than just reading and learning some knowledge from it, but it’s also about applying it to your lives. While making this a habit, bit by bit you’ll earn your trust to God’s plan for you and grow your faith.

  • Know Your Availability

Picking a specific time is essential, as it will make you more productive and have a fix schedule. It doesn’t matter if you want to do it in the morning, noon or night. But to be able to make it happen, you have to assure yourself that you are more than willing to do it. Because before you choose what are going to read, you have to need to choose the time as to when you’ll read it.

  • Prepare Your List of Daily Devotion

Since daily reading can be full of work, you might want to make a list ahead of time. With that you’ll be able to read based on your scheduled time and definitely avoid skipping. Having a list will make you more time to meditate. We are already living in advance technology, and there are a lot of help we can get just by searching the internet, you can get a list of devotional topics to use. You can also buy a book and make a journal to make it more personal.

  • Avoid Interferences

Bible reading is also like praying to God. You’re having a quiet time with the Lord, so you have to make sure that nothing interferes you to avoid disconnection, like you are already in Jesus zone so don’t let any distraction in.  Better to have a close and quiet place for you to be able to concentrate.

  • Make It More Personal

One fun way to do your daily Bible reading is to have it documented through a journal. If you are creative enough you can make a wonderful and interesting devotional notes on your journal. It makes you enjoy the reading more.

  • Ask Guidance from Jesus

The most important part when you start your daily Bible reading is to always pray to Jesus and ask for his guidance. For your to be physically, mentally and spiritually prepared. Know that you are not just not reading any book, but it’s the most powerful book in the work which is the Word of God.

  • Share Your Devotions

Is it more exciting to share the devotions you made to your friends and family? Sharing is also beneficial because your able to share God’s word to other people. You may also team up with a friend/family do to your daily devotions.
