How Do We Bring Sukkot into Today’s World?

bible camp god sukka sukkot Jun 11, 2020

What is Sukkot?

Sukkot, commonly translated as the Feast of Tabernacles and also known as the Festival of Ingathering. This corresponds to the double significance of Sukkot. The Festival of Ingathering as mentioned in the Book of Exodus is agricultural in nature (Exodus 34:22) and marks the end of the harvest time. The Book of Leviticus is that of commemorating the Exodus and the dependence of the People of Israel on the will of God (Leviticus 23:42-43) After the Jews Exodus (a mass departure of people especially immigrants) Egypt, they traveled through the desert for forty years living in temporary dwellings called Sukkahs.

How to Use Sukkot for Today.

In today’s world of uncertainty, it is our privilege to be under the number one protector our Lord and Savior Yeshua. It is also our reasonability to watch over one another and to be prepared with the fruits of our harvest. Just as Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years in Egypt before the famine, we should be diligent in our own harvesting, working together and helping one another in times of need.

Why We Chose to Plant for a Harvest.

Making the decision to hold Sukkot at our home came with the decision to plant for a harvest. We know all things work for good to those who love the Lord and it is not by chance that we are on this piece of land at this time of our lives. We firmly believe this is are calling and that we should be ready for anything.

The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land. Deuteronomy 28:8

Coming Up

We will be doing walkthroughs of our gardens each week. Also, we will be sharing the plans we have for the camp and we will be starting a donation page for those of you who want to help. We have a Master planner working on the camp project and we should be hearing from her in the next couple of weeks with a design.

Wrap Up

I am a big dreamer, and this is a big project we have undertaken but I am so excited to fulfill the Lord's will. I am also truly blessed with all the support we receive from the Leaders of the church. I want to tell everyone that we are coming up with some sort of contest regarding the name of the camp but that’s for another time.https://www.youministries.com/blog/God Says if You Build it I Will Fill it;  The Beginning of Camp Sukkot
