G.O.D. Method of Journaling Scripture
Are you enjoying this series? Have you carved the time out to spend with the Lord and study His Scripture? We are heading into the third method of journaling Scripture called the G.O.D. Method. While researching for more methods, I came across the G.O.D. method from Bible Journaling Ministries. Let's dive in and see what this stands for.
G. Is For Grow
Approach the Word with the intention to learn something and ask God that He might grow you in His Word today.
O. Is For Observe
Similar to the S.O.A.P. method, consider what God wants you to see in the Word and how you might apply it to your life.
D. Is For Draw
Drawing, illustration, and writing are methods that creative people use, connect with the message in meaningful way. You can draw pictures in your Bible, paint, illustrate a beautiful picture, or simply doodle. If your Bible already includes images you can color them as well.
There is no need to try for perfection. The point of drawing is to help you connect with the Word. Often, the serenity that you feel when coloring or creating helps you meditate longer and spend more time with God than you have in the past. It truly is a beautiful thing.
And There You Have
A brand new method to try out and add to your journaling bag. Remember that this is all about getting into the Scripture and meditating on it with the Lord. Ask Him to reveal to you the meanings and answer any questions that pop into your head.
