Eve: The First Woman, The First Mother, and The First Promise
Mar 15, 2026
Before there was shame…
Before there was striving…
Before there was insecurity…
There was a woman created in perfection.
Her name was Eve.
In our second Genesis character study, we step into the garden and take a closer look at the life of the first woman. Eve’s story is often reduced to a single moment—the bite of forbidden fruit—but her life is far deeper and more instructive than that.
If we want to understand biblical womanhood, influence, discernment, and redemption, we must go back to the beginning.
We must walk into Eden.
Why Study Eve?
Eve was created from Adam’s rib—formed intentionally and relationally by God Himself (Genesis 2:21–22). She was placed in a world untouched by sin, entrusted with influence, and designed for partnership.
She walked with God without fear.
She lived without comparison.
She knew no shame.
And then a question entered the garden:
“Did God actually say…?”
The fall of humanity did not begin with rebellion alone—it began with distortion.
In this Genesis Bible study for women, we explore:
-
What it meant to be created as a “helper fit for him”
-
What life in the Garden of Eden may have felt like
-
The subtlety of deception
-
The weight of shame and regret
-
What it must have been like to leave paradise
-
Eve as the “mother of all living”
-
The first promise of redemption in Genesis 3:15
Eve’s story is not just about failure.
It is about influence.
It is about perseverance.
And it is about hope.
The First Promise
Right in the middle of consequence, God speaks a promise:
The offspring of the woman would crush the serpent’s head.
Through Eve’s lineage would come redemption.
The one who was deceived would also become part of God’s redemptive plan.
That promise points forward—to Jesus.
And that changes how we read her story.

Encouragement for Today
Eve’s story reminds us that even when we misunderstand, even when we falter, even when we experience consequence—God still pursues.
He clothed her.
He spoke promise over her.
He brought life through her.
Failure was not the end of her story.
And it is not the end of yours either.
If you are looking for a Genesis Bible study for women that goes deeper than the surface, I invite you to start with Eve and continue walking through this series with us.
We are not rushing.
We are building foundations.
With you in His Word,
