What does it mean to go down a rabbit trail?

Well number one we all know that a rabbit hole is a hole that a rabbit lives in

Hello family, welcome to the Almighty God and Gospel Girl Podcast. I am excited to bring to you a brand-new playlist or broadcast for 2022. I have titled it: Investigating Biblical Rabbit Trails. 

As in all things I bring to this broadcast, I pray for discernment, but I also challenge you to not take my word for it, take God’s Word for it. In 1 Thessalonians 5:21, God’s Word tells us to “Test everything, hold tight to what is good.~

So, this is a brand-New Year and God has given me a brand new focus as I go through His Word from the beginning once again starting in Genesis.

DEFINITION one is used for referring to a situation that is strange, confusing, or illogical, and often hard to escape from. 

WORD STORY

From Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a famous children’s story by Lewis Carroll in which a girl called Alice falls down a rabbit hole into a strange dreamlike world.

NOW, Let’s combine that with Rabbit trails: Rabbit trails are the easiest way of showing just how far down the rabbit hole we are going here.

When you look up the phrase; Is the saying rabbit hole or rabbit trail?

Used especially in the phrase going down the rabbit hole or falling down the rabbit hole, a rabbit hole is a metaphor for something that transports someone into a wonderfully (or troublingly) surreal state or situation.

So, with that all being said, May Yahweh blesses the time you spend in His Word and discern the things you should.

THIS WEEKS READINGS ARE GENESIS CHAPTER 1-21

That is the entire chapter of Genesis 1-21 if you are planning to read through the Bible in a year.

I am on my second time around as of this broadcast.

This study is in no way to take the place of studying the entire Bible in fact if you haven't studied the entire Bible from book to book, cover to cover I suggest doing that first before you dive into this study. This study is a study, an investigative deep dive if you will, for those of you that have read the Bible and studied God’s Word cover to cover and want to do a little more deep-diving into some “rabbit trails” in the Bible.

I will be providing questions, scriptures, and points of interest, if you will, that you can look up on your own, investigate, and deep dive asking God to help you discern and come to your thoughts. In no way am I trying to influence you one way or another period! My entire goal of doing this series this year is so that you get into your Bibles even more and discover all the treasures that God has placed there for us.

You will hear me mention over and over on my podcasts, don’t take my word for it, get in your Bible and look it up yourself! I challenge you to challenge me and find the answers for yourself. That’s right, I will bring you a message, I will back it up with scripture, I will give you prompts I will put some questions out there that will make you go or I never thought of that or wow that's something new…but, let me make this very clear….it is your job, that’s right, your job to be in Yahweh’s Word daily.

Each day when I open the book that God has provided us, His Word of Life, the Bible, I see something new and exciting and that is the very reason I love his Word because God always gives me something new, it doesn't matter how many times I've studied the Bible, how many times I've read the same scripture, He always shows me something new, something that makes me go, hmm really I never knew that. It makes me realize just how much I do not know at all.

So as we get started deep diving I want you to take the time and do the deep dives into the materials that interest you because this is your time with the Father, this is the time with Yahweh and with our Messiah and it should be personal, it should be where Yahweh leads you, to spend your precious time in the interests and area where He guides.

So, just maybe you have not done any of these investigative deep dives before or always wanted to do these investigative deep dives and just didn’t know where to begin. Well, sisters and brother’s I got you covered. As we begin the rabbit trails, that I'll probably call a lot of these investigative deep dives we go down, then just listen to my podcast each week either on my website or any of your favorite platforms, then go to my website, that's where the show notes will be and that's where all the links will also be documented along with the scriptures and links that I talk about with you weekly. 

Once, you have listened to the weekly podcast, you should probably already have some idea of the studying you want to do, so head over to the website and you can pick and choose the ones you want to dive into, if you don't want to do them all, for the week, or heck…just do them all, you may just pick and choose because who knows what rabbit trails you take might, could end up being your weeklong study anyhow. It just all depends once again where Yahweh is leading and discerning for your time. So, pick and choose wisely, pray over the Scripture and remember just come back and continue when you can. I will have a series going through the entire Bible of rabbit trails, questions, and scriptures for you each week, so it's up to you and Yahweh, to pick and choose and continue going based on your interests, prayer, and guidance. Enjoy the journey and remember what the Bible says in Proverbs 16:9 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” So, the first step is to commit, the second step is to pray, and the third step is to get in His Word every day and see what a beautiful ride awaits you.

So, let's get started today with our first chapters and the first set of Scriptures I have for you. Beginning in Genesis 1:3 and Genesis 1 and verse 26 we see references to the word us then in genesis chapter two verse 17 we see God's warning to eve now notice here his exact words in the Bible what he says to eve then what I want you to do is go to Genesis 3:2 and see exactly what Eve told the serpent did she relay the exact words that God told her. do you think that possibly in this verse could have been the very first sin instead of eating the fruit? then in Genesis 2:24, I want you to note the cherubim after sin in the garden of Eden to guard Eden and block their way to Eden question is this blocking the heavenly realm question where else do you find the cherubim side note at the time that our Messiah dies on the cross we do know that cherubim are woven into the veil and the veil rips the time he dies that allows the veil to be open so that our Messiah can go into the heavenly realm and be with the father pretty good rabbit trail there for you today.

OK, then we get over into Genesis 4:7 and chapter 6 verse three it talks about 120 years there's controversy about how long before the flood took place, deep dive, into if you think that this is talking about the actual span of life of man question or if you add the years up it was exactly 120 years before the flood took place.

Now in Genesis 6:4 we see the mention of an ark which is a large boat the ark and I'm not mentioning the ark of the covenant I'm talking about an ark which is a boat I know that there are only 2 arks of this type of boat mentioned in the Bible do you know what the other one is?

Now here's a great rabbit trail in this week's reading how long was Noah in the ark most people if you ask them they're going to go to the normal answer of 40 days 40 nights 42 days something like that here I'm going to only give you scripture and I'm going to let you add it up and I'm not gonna give you the answer but I would love to hear your answer in an email to me so here we go with the scriptures to begin adding up your answer:

Rabbit Trails for This Week:

And one final rabbit trail to head down I've talked about angels before in some of my other podcasts this is a great place to take a look at what angels look like because they don't fit exactly what us as humans are led to believe by pictures and such if you head over into Genesis Chapter 19:1 we see that two angels appeared as humans.

And then throughout chapter 19 all the way from chapter 19 verse one through 17 and then all the way down to where it fills the covenant of the Lord's 29 it's going to be describing the angels and what they look like how they appeared and what they did so take a look at that - that's another place that could lead you into a lot more scripture in researching on angels so that's it for this week rabbit trails there's a lot here for you to go down for sure I gave you a lot to get started with and a lot of homework so you might do a piece you might do a lot you might do the whole thing just depends on where God leads you and how much steady time you have I love it all.

Just remember that the most important thing with this study is getting in God's word. let the reading of God's word bless you as you go throughout the week. Remember faith is trusting God even when you don't understand his plan.
