And the Lord spoke unto Moses saying speak into the children of Israel, and say into them, concerning the feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. Leviticus chapter 23:1-2
Hi everyone, this is Tammy Becker and welcome to the Almighty God and Gospel Girl podcast. Our readings for the week are Leviticus chapter 19 through Numbers chapter 2. This week I'm led to talk all about the feasts and boy do I have a lot to say about them as it's brought up a lot of discussions among my group of spiritual sisters/friends. We've got a lot to discuss and a lot that I have done some deep diving into for our podcast today, so we better get headed down the rabbit hole.
First things first. I was having a conversation with one of my lifelong friends who was brought up in the same church group as myself. Now me and this friend have been lifelong friends for well over 40 years, and yes I’m telling on my age now. Daily we call each other and talk about our Bible finds and a-ha moments. We often find that some of the traditional teachings and beliefs we were brought up with are not necessarily what is in the Bible and what YHWH said. Now what I mean by that is as I grow in maturity and read the Bible over and over the Lord discerns more and more things to me and the study of the feasts was another a-ha moment. When I brought up my a-ha findings to my friend, she was having a very hard time with understanding what I had been given, hence led me on a deep diving, hard looking study for you all today. And, not only that, as of the time of this recording, we also have on our calendars for our Faithful Friends Coffee Chats on Fridays, 10 am MST on my YouTube channel, a whole new series on the Feasts, that will begin after our prophecy series is completed. So depending on when you are listening to this is could be upcoming, in the works or recorded so make sure and check out my channel for that series, the prophecy series and the Armor of God series as well.
The Appointed Festivals
In Leviticus chapter 23 there are 8 appointed festivals. These festivals were appointed from YHWH. At the beginning of each order of instruction for the festival begins this I quote the Lord said to Moses give the following instructions to the people of Israel then as you read through and begin studying through each of the feasts you're going to see this continued over and over the Lord said to Moses give the following instructions to the people of Israel the Lord's Passover the Lord said to Moses, the Lord said to Moses and the Lord said to Moses, then the Lord said to Moses. Ok, OK do you see what I'm saying here the Lord said the Lord appointed the festivals AND nowhere does it say that these festivals were meant for any one group of people! He said to give the instructions to the Israel people, but they were meant for all God's people not just Jewish people, and I mean no disrespect here whatsoever, but these “feasts” do not belong to any one religious group, they belong to all of us, they were and are important to YHWH and they should be important to us today! Nowhere in Leviticus 23 does it say anything about these festivals being Jewish or given by Yahweh for the Jewish people it says that these were festivals for YHWH, YHWH wanted these eight festivals and made sure that he told Moses about them and how to celebrate them in detail. Now I know this is going to stir some controversy up, but I can't help it, the Lord put this in front of me I'm a Biblicist. I believe in the Bible that's what that means, and it's in black and white. When you go and you look up in the Bible hub the Greek or the Hebrew nowhere does it say that these were meant for anyone group of people. Test everything and hold tight to what is good 1 Thessalonians 5:21. You don't have to take my word for it take God's word for it, get in the Bible, and look at this scripture yourself, deep dive into it and you're going to find your own a-ha moments for yourself as the Lord discerns the Word for you. Included under my show notes is a YouTube video explaining each of the Feasts in a little more detail, just go to youministries.com and check it out. Keep it mind that you are to test everything and hold tight to what is good 1 Thessalonians 5:21. Let's keep going.
πZion, the City of YHWH’s Festivals
Quoting from Christian Missionaries “God gave us the feasts of God so that, as His people, we may know Him and receive His blessing of salvation. The Bible describes God’s church that keeps the feasts of God as Zion. God’s feasts and Zion are inseparable. So, to observe God’s holy feasts, it’s essential for us to go to Zion. This is a consistent teaching throughout the Bible.”
For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling: “This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it. I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food. I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for joy.”
Psalms 132:13-16
As the Bible tells us, YHWH chose Zion as His eternal dwelling place. Therefore, to meet YHWH, we must go to Zion. And in Zion, we can have a relationship with YHWH and receive the blessings of salvation.
The scriptures explicitly tell us that Zion is YHWH’s church where the feasts are kept. This means YHWH’s people who keep the feasts should be there too.
Look on Zion, the city of our festivals…
Isaiah 33:20
Look at Zion, the city where we celebrate our religious festivals.
Isaiah 33:20 (GNB)
The Bible delineates YHWH’s holy days as feasts or festivals. It is because these are days of celebration for the people of God to receive spiritual blessings.
Feasts of YHWH
It’s evident that Zion is a very special place, which provides much favor to the people of YHWH. However, just because a place bears the name “Zion,” it does not make it Zion where YHWH dwells. We must know the feasts of YHWH to confirm whether or not we are in Zion.
YHWH proclaimed the seven holy festivals in the book of Leviticus.
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘These are my appointed feasts, the appointed feasts of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.’”
Leviticus 23:2
The seven feasts of God are as follows:
- Passover
- Feast of Unleavened Bread
- Day of First fruits (Resurrection Day)
- Feast of Weeks (Pentecost)
- Feast of Trumpets
- Day of Atonement
- Feast of Tabernacles
These feasts are grouped into three times during the year.
Three times a year all your men must appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles.
Deuteronomy 16:16
The feasts of YHWH were not only for the Israelites in the Old Testament times, but were also kept by Jesus and the Early Church in the New Testament times. While establishing the New Covenant, Jesus showed the disciples how to keep the feasts. In other words, although the feasts of the Old Covenant share the same name and appointed time as the feasts of the New Covenant, they are observed differently. Jesus and His disciples did not keep the feasts the same way the Jewish people kept them (Mt 26:17-28, Lk 22:7-20, Acts 2:1-4, Jn 7:2,37-39).
Therefore, Zion, YHWH’s dwelling place, is wherever the New Covenant feasts are kept. And the example of Jesus observing them lets us know the practicality of keeping them.
Feasts of YHWH Abolished in History
Although the Early Church kept the feasts of the New Covenant according to Christ’s example, over time, the feasts were abolished and replaced with different teachings.
Through the Council of Nicaea, the Passover feast that Christ established was abolished and replaced with the celebration of Easter, which originates in the pagan religion. Through the Passover, Christ promised eternal life and forgiveness of sins (Jn 6:53-54, Mt 26:26-28). Therefore, as Christians, we must keep the Passover that Jesus Christ established.
In the spiritual world, Zion is wherever the New Covenant feasts of God are kept. Because the feasts of God were abolished, Zion was spiritually destroyed and ruined. Hence, God’s church, overflowing with blessings, could be found no more.
The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
Isaiah 51:3

Restoration of Zion
Though Zion did not exist for many years because the feasts of YHWH were not kept, YHWH promised to restore Zion in the last days. Meaning, the way to salvation will once again be opened through the establishment of the feasts of YHWH, which together are the foundation of Zion.
In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the YHWH of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Micah 4:1
Since Zion is the place where YHWH’s feasts are kept, Zion can only be restored when the true New Covenant feasts of YHWH are kept again. The book of Micah describes the feasts as the law going out from Zion. It is because the feasts are not only celebrations, but holy commandments of YHWH.
Today, the church that keeps the feasts of YHWH according to Christ’s teaching is Zion prophesied to appear in our age. Here, we can receive blessings and salvation directly from our Father (Ps 132:13-16).
Final Thoughts to Ponder
- The final feast of The LORD is the 8th, and Last Great Day of the feast of Tabernacles, symbolizing the 2nd resurrection, and great white Throne Judgement of all mankind at the end of this 1000 years, and the restitution of all (Ezekiel.37:12-14; 36:35-36; John.5:28-29; Acts 3:20-22)
- Incidentally, any believing that the Feasts of The LORD are done away, cannot see that they are saying God’s Law is done away. This would take in the Sabbath, as modern “Christianity” believes, without any basis of proof, and contrary to the word of God.
- The scriptures clearly demonstrate that the Feasts of the LORD were kept by the children of Israel, even by Gentiles among Israel, by Jesus and His disciples, by Paul and the Gentile churches, and were established forever!
- That God has commanded His Feast days to be kept in conjunction with the new moons (beginning of each month)in their seasons, and that the religion of Judaism’s practice of postponements are contrary to easily provable Bible truth, for any with eyes to see, or wanting to see.

DISCLAIMER:
This study is in no way to take the place of studying the entire Bible in fact if you haven't studied the entire Bible from book to book, cover to cover I suggest doing that first before you dive into this study. This study is a study, an investigative deep dive if you will, for those of you that have read the Bible and Studied God’s Word cover to cover and want to do a little deeper diving into some “rabbit trails” in the Bible.
I will be providing questions, scriptures, and points of interest, if you will, that you can look up on your own, investigate, and deep dive asking God to help you discern and come to your thoughts. In no way am I trying to influence you one way or another period! My entire goal of doing this series this year is so that you get into your Bibles even more and discover all the treasures that God has placed there for us.
You will hear me mention over and over on my podcasts, don’t take my word for it, get in your Bible, and look it up yourself! I challenge you to challenge me and find the answers for yourself. That’s right, I will bring you a message, I will back it up with scripture, I will give you prompts I will put some questions out there that will make you go or I never thought of that or wow that's something new…but, let me make this very clear….it is your job, that’s right, your job to be in Yahweh’s Word daily.
