The Hands Behind Our Ministry: Six Women, Two Countries, One Shared Purpose
Nov 03, 2026
How meaningful work, friendship, and a shared love for God's Word connect Y.O.U. Ministries with women around the world.
There Are More Hands Behind This Ministry Than You Might Realize
Girl, when you visit Y.O.U. Ministries, you probably see me teaching a Bible study, sharing a devotional, or showing you how to use one of our creative journaling kits.
But there's something I want you to know.
I'm not doing all of this alone!
Behind the Bible studies, YouTube videos, digital printables, Pinterest graphics, and blog posts are six women who have become an important part of this ministry.
Two live in Nigeria, and four live in the Philippines.
Each woman brings different talents and skills. Each has her own story. And each contributes to the work we're doing to help people spend more time in God's Word.
But what makes these relationships especially meaningful to me is that Y.O.U. Ministries has also been able to provide employment opportunities for these women.
That's something I don't want to overlook.
Because ministry isn't only about what happens when someone opens a Bible study or downloads a journaling page.
Sometimes ministry also happens through the opportunities we create, the relationships we build, and the ways we care for one another.
Today, I want you to meet the women behind the scenes.
Meet Sophia — Our Digital Creator in Nigeria

Let's begin in Nigeria, where Sophia helps create digital resources for Y.O.U. Ministries.
If you've ever downloaded one of our creative Bible journaling pages, you know how much I love combining Scripture study with beautiful, useful materials.
But those resources take time to create.
There's designing, arranging, choosing colors, preparing files, and making sure everything comes together in a way that our ministry friends can enjoy.
Sophia contributes her creative abilities to that process.
I love that we're able to provide an opportunity for her to use her talents while helping us create resources that encourage people to open their Bibles.
A digital page may seem like a small thing.
But think about how many hands it can pass through.
Sophia helps create it. We make it available through the ministry. Someone downloads it, prints it, and uses it while studying Scripture.
And suddenly, work created in Nigeria becomes part of someone's Bible study time in another part of the world.
That's a wonderful connection.
Meet Promise — Helping Others Discover God's Word

Also in Nigeria is Promise, our Pinterest virtual assistant.
Now, you might be wondering why a ministry needs someone working on Pinterest.
Girl, Pinterest is one of the ways people discover our Bible studies, devotionals, and creative resources!
Someone might be searching for a Bible journaling idea, a Scripture study, or encouragement for a difficult season.
A Pinterest image can lead that person to a resource on our website.
Promise helps us make those connections possible.
Her work is different from Sophia's, but both women play a part in helping Y.O.U. Ministries reach people.
And I'm grateful that we can provide employment opportunities for both of them.
Meet Ruma — Growing Together Through the Years

Now let's travel to the Philippines.
Ruma is my virtual assistant, and she's been with me longer than any of our other international team members.
She's watched Y.O.U. Ministries grow, change, and take on new projects.
And I've had the privilege of watching her grow professionally along the way.
Recently, Ruma shared a testimony about what working with the ministry has meant to her.
She explained that the opportunity has helped her support her family, provide for their needs, grow in her career, and experience opportunities she might not otherwise have imagined.
One thing she wrote has stayed with me:
"More than the work itself, I am thankful for the trust Tammy has placed in me, the kindness she's shown, and the chance to be part of something that creates opportunities for people like me, even from thousands of miles away."
That is why I wanted to share these stories.
Because behind every completed task is a real person.
Ruma is a wife and mother. Her work helps her provide for the people she loves.
And while she helps me manage the responsibilities of a growing ministry, I'm grateful that our working relationship has also made a difference in her life.

Meet Angel — Celebrating a College Graduate!

Angel is our YouTube video editor in the Philippines.
If you've watched one of our Bible study lessons, you've seen the results of the work she helps us do.
After I finish recording, there's still plenty to prepare before a video is ready to share.
Angel helps with that process.
But there's something about Angel that makes me smile.
I've had the privilege of watching her work toward an important milestone in her life.
She graduated from college!
Girl, I was so happy for her.
There's something special about watching someone you've worked with continue pursuing her goals and then finally reach one of them.
I know that earning a college degree takes dedication and perseverance.
And I'm grateful I've had the opportunity to celebrate this achievement with her.
Angel is also preparing to share a personal testimony about how Y.O.U. Ministries was able to help her family during a medical crisis involving her father.
I'll let Angel tell that story in her own words when she's ready.
For now, I simply want you to know how much I value her contribution to our ministry and how happy I am to celebrate her graduation.
Meet Mary Ann — From Ministry Work to a Friendship That Feels Like Family

Mary Ann is our blogger in the Philippines.
She helps prepare the written content that allows us to share Bible studies, encouragement, and ministry stories with people who enjoy reading.
But our relationship has grown far beyond writing blog posts.
I've watched Mary Ann walk through difficult seasons in her life, and I've had opportunities to encourage her along the way.
Then, when typhoons struck communities in the Philippines, Mary Ann became our connection on the ground.
Through her help, Y.O.U. Ministries was able to coordinate food and essential supplies for families facing hardship.
She helped us reach people we could not have reached on our own.
And that meant so much to me.
But recently, Mary Ann shared another piece of news.
She's engaged!
And then she asked me something that touched my heart.
She asked me to be her ninang, a special role in Filipino wedding traditions.
Although I won't be able to attend her wedding, I am grateful that I can still encourage her and her fiancé as a godly advisor and prayer partner.
Think about that for a moment.
What began as a working relationship between two women living thousands of miles apart has grown into a friendship that reaches into some of life's most meaningful moments.
We have shared work, encouragement, difficult seasons, outreach opportunities, and now the joy of preparing for a marriage.
That's one of the things I treasure about this ministry.
Sometimes the people who begin as team members become dear friends.
Meet Karly — Our Newest Creative Team Member

Our newest team member in the Philippines is Karly.
Karly helps create digital resources for Y.O.U. Ministries.
Although she hasn't been with us as long as some of the other women, she's already become a valuable part of our team.
I appreciate the creative work she contributes and the opportunity to welcome another talented woman into our ministry.
Every person brings something different.
And every time we add someone to the team, I am reminded that growing a ministry also means learning how to work together, appreciate one another's gifts, and create opportunities for others.
I'm grateful Karly is part of that journey.
Six Women, Six Different Contributions
When I think about these six women, I see so much more than a list of job responsibilities.
Sophia creates digital resources.
Promise helps people discover our ministry through Pinterest.
Ruma helps me manage the work behind the scenes.
Angel helps prepare our YouTube videos.
Mary Ann helps share our stories through the blog and has also assisted with outreach.
Karly brings her creativity to our digital resources.
Every one of these roles matters.
And together, their work helps us make Bible study resources available to people in different places.
I love knowing that the work we do can provide meaningful employment opportunities for women who live far beyond our own community.

What Does Scripture Say About Working Together?
In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul describes the church as one body with many members.
He explains that the different parts of the body have different responsibilities, yet each is important.
While our ministry team is a working relationship rather than the church body Paul is describing, I see a helpful reminder in that passage.
We don't all have the same abilities.
We don't all do the same work.
And that's okay.
We can appreciate the different gifts and skills people bring.
Romans 12:10 also encourages believers to show brotherly affection and honor one another.
That reminds me to treat the people I work with as people first.
Not just someone completing a project.
Not just a name on an email.
But a person worthy of respect, kindness, and encouragement.
That's the kind of working relationship I want Y.O.U. Ministries to cultivate.
The Ministry Behind the Ministry
There are many ways Y.O.U. Ministries reaches beyond our walls.
We've helped families facing difficult circumstances.
We've provided food and essential supplies during times of crisis.
We've offered encouragement and Scripture-centered resources to people walking through hard seasons.
And we've been able to create employment opportunities for women in Nigeria and the Philippines.
I don't see these things as separate from our mission.
They're different ways of putting care for others into practice.
When you visit our website, watch our videos, or use our Bible study resources, you're seeing the results of work that involves people across several countries.
And I want you to know their names.
Because they matter.
A Personal Thank-You
To Sophia, Promise, Ruma, Angel, Mary Ann, and Karly:
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your skills and creativity.
Thank you for helping Y.O.U. Ministries serve our Bible study community.
Thank you for the time and care you put into your work.
And thank you for allowing me to be part of your journeys.
I've been blessed to watch some of you reach important milestones, grow in your careers, and share meaningful moments in your personal lives.
I'm grateful for the friendships we've built.
And I'm grateful that our ministry has been able to provide opportunities that make a difference beyond the work itself.
When Love Reaches Beyond Our Walls
Girl, when I say that Y.O.U. Ministries is reaching beyond our walls, this is part of what I mean.
It's not only about how far our Bible studies travel.
It's also about the people who help make them possible.
Six women.
Two countries.
Different talents, different responsibilities, and different stories.
But all connected through the work of Y.O.U. Ministries.
And behind every finished resource, there is a person whose contribution deserves to be recognized.
I hope the next time you download a journaling page, read a blog post, or watch one of our videos, you'll remember the women behind the scenes.
They're part of our story.
And now you've had the opportunity to meet them.
