New Blog Post: Finding Favor in the Flood — Lessons from Noah
Have you ever felt like you were the only one trying to do the right thing?
In a world that often feels like it's drifting further and further away from God’s heart, it can be lonely to stand for the truth. This week, we are diving into the life of one of the most famous figures in history, a man who knew exactly what it felt like to be the "odd one out."
His name is Noah.
While the world around him was filled with chaos and violence, Noah found something that changed everything: Favor. But as we’ll discover, finding favor didn't mean life was easy—it meant he had a massive job to do and a long, 120-year walk of faith ahead of him.
✝️ The Christ Connection
Noah is a beautiful "type" of Christ. Just as Noah built an Ark to save all who would enter, Jesus is our Ark.
The Flood was a judgment on sin, and the Ark was the only place of safety. Today, the judgment for sin is real, and Jesus is the only "vessel" that can carry us safely through it. Just as God "shut the door" to keep Noah safe, we are "sealed" in Christ by the Holy Spirit. Noah brought humanity through the waters to a new world; Jesus brings us through death into a New Creation.
🌿 Life Lesson: The Principle of the Ark
The Truth: Noah teaches us that favor is not about being popular; it’s about being positioned. He was willing to be a "fool" in the eyes of the world to be a friend in the eyes of God. Faith is not just believing that a storm is coming; it’s picking up the hammer and building the boat while the sun is still shining.
The Shift: If you are feeling the pressure to fit in with a culture that has forgotten God, take heart. Stop looking for the approval of the crowd and start looking for the "blueprints" God has for your life. Trust that being "shut in" with God is the safest place you can possibly be. You don't have to understand the "why" to start the "work."
✨ Did You Know?
Did you know that the Ark had no rudder, no sails, and no oars?
This is a powerful biblical truth: The Ark wasn't designed to be steered by Noah; it was designed to be sustained by God. Noah’s only job was to build the vessel and step inside; God took care of the navigation and the destination. This reminds us that when we are in God's will, we don't have to worry about the "steering"—we just have to trust the One who holds the currents.
I invite you to join me on YouTube for this foundational study. We’re talking about the splinters, the sweat, and the 120 years of silence from the sky. Let’s learn together what it looks like to build for a future only God can see.

🧵 Closing Thoughts
Noah wasn't saved because he was a perfect man; he was saved because he was a man who chose to walk with a perfect God. His first act after the flood wasn't to build a house, but to build an altar. May we be a people who prioritize worship above our own comfort as we step into the "new things" God has for us.
Next Week: We meet the three sons of Noah—the fathers of all the nations. Don't miss our study on Shem, Ham, and Japheth!
