Beyond the Bible Pages: Real Stories of Faith, Compassion, and Outreach

How Y.O.U. Ministries is sharing God's love through practical assistance, prayer, and opportunities to serve.

“Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18 (ESV)

Hey girl!

When I started Y.O.U. Ministries, I had a heart for helping women spend more time in God's Word. I wanted to make Scripture approachable, memorable, and something we could carry into our everyday lives.

Creative Bible journaling became an important part of that journey. But somewhere along the way, God kept reminding me of something.

We're not just called to read His Word. We're called to live it.

That's why Y.O.U. Ministries has always been about more than pretty Bible pages, stickers, and devotional journals.

Those things have a purpose. They help us slow down, study Scripture, and remember what God is teaching us.

But what happens when we close our Bibles?

Do we notice the person who is hungry? The family struggling through grief? The neighbor who needs encouragement? The person across the world who could use a helping hand?

These are the questions that continue to shape our ministry.

Today, I want to share some of the ways we've had opportunities to put our faith into action.

When Love Reaches Across the Miles

Philippines Typhoon Relief — July 2026

Sometimes an opportunity to serve comes from thousands of miles away.

During July 2026, storms and flooding brought difficult circumstances to families in the Philippines. Homes and communities were affected, and families faced immediate needs for food, clean water, and everyday necessities.

Y.O.U. Ministries was able to send financial assistance through a trusted contact in the Philippines, who helped purchase and distribute relief supplies.

Those supplies included rice, drinking water, canned goods, noodles, coffee, and other essentials.

Think about that for a moment.

Something as ordinary as a bag of rice or a bottle of drinking water can mean so much to someone trying to recover from a storm.

Our contact shared a testimony about the experience, including the gratitude felt for the opportunity to help families who were struggling.

One line from that testimony has stayed with me:

“We may not be able to help everyone, but we can help someone.”

Isn't that something worth remembering?

We may not be able to meet every need in the world, but that doesn't mean we should overlook the need God places right in front of us.

Sometimes helping one person is exactly where we're supposed to begin.

Walking Alongside Families Through Grief

Funeral Assistance — October 2026

Not every hardship comes with a warning.

Sometimes a family finds itself facing an unexpected loss while also carrying the financial responsibilities that follow.

In October, Y.O.U. Ministries had an opportunity to provide financial assistance toward funeral expenses.

Out of respect for the family's privacy, I'm not sharing personal details.

But I do want to share why this matters to our ministry.

When someone is grieving, there may not be words that can make the situation easier. We can pray. We can listen. We can sit beside them.

And when we're able, we can help carry a practical burden.

Scripture reminds us:

“Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (ESV)

Sometimes bearing another person's burden looks like a prayer.

Sometimes it looks like a meal.

And sometimes it looks like helping with an expense that has arrived during one of life's hardest seasons.

Stories Shared Within Our Ministry Community

Not every testimony shared through Y.O.U. Ministries is a story about financial assistance.

Some are stories of faith, prayer, encouragement, perseverance, and the ways people continue turning to God through difficult circumstances.

And those stories matter, too.

Finding Encouragement Through Loss

In our September newsletter, we shared Ambyre's testimony involving loss and the support of a caring community.

Grief can leave people feeling isolated. One of the blessings of Christian fellowship is the opportunity to walk beside one another through those seasons.

We don't always have answers. But we can show up, pray, listen, and remind someone that they haven't been forgotten.

A Testimony of Recovery and Hope

In October, we shared Iva's testimony about her experiences involving Perryville women's prison and her journey away from a long struggle with methamphetamine use.

Her story reminds us that a person's past does not have to be the only chapter of their story.

As Christians, we can make room for testimonies of change, perseverance, and hope while remembering that every person's journey is their own.

A Family's Long Road Through Medical Challenges

In November, we shared the story of baby Qhonner and his family's experience through serious medical challenges, a lengthy NICU stay, and continued care after returning home.

Their experience brought attention to the emotional, practical, and financial challenges that families can face when caring for a medically fragile child.

Stories like this give our community opportunities to pray with greater understanding and compassion.

Answering the Call to Serve

We've also shared Lisa's testimony about obedience and responding to God's leading.

Service doesn't always begin with a large plan.

Sometimes it begins with a willingness to say yes, offer your time, encourage another person, or use the abilities God has given you.

That's an important part of our ministry, too.

Supporting Creative Opportunities Around the World

Another part of Y.O.U. Ministries' mission involves working with digital creators in developing countries.

Behind the beautiful digital papers, journaling elements, and creative resources we enjoy are talented people using their skills to earn income and help support their families.

We want our creative ministry to provide opportunities for those talents to be valued.

When we create and share Bible journaling resources, we're reminded that creativity can be more than a hobby.

It can also become an opportunity to encourage and support someone else.

What Does This Have to Do With Bible Journaling?

Everything, girl!

When we open our Bibles, we're not simply collecting information.

We're learning about God's character, His commands, His promises, and how He calls us to live.

Consider James 1:22:

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (ESV)

That's what I want us to remember.

We study Scripture so that it becomes part of the way we think, speak, respond, and care for others.

Our Bible journaling pages can help us remember those lessons.

Our actions give us opportunities to practice them.

And that's why our ministry continues to connect Bible study, creativity, fellowship, and practical outreach.

You Can Be Part of the Mission

There are many ways to walk alongside Y.O.U. Ministries.

You can pray for the people and families we serve. You can encourage others, participate in our Bible studies, share our resources, and support the ministry's work.

And if God has placed it on your heart to contribute financially, your generosity helps us continue responding to opportunities to serve.

We're grateful for every person who helps make this ministry possible.

Because this has never been about how much one person can do.

It's about being faithful with the opportunities God places before us.

A Final Thought

I keep coming back to those words from our Philippines outreach testimony:

“We may not be able to help everyone, but we can help someone.”

What if we each began there?

One person to encourage.

One family to pray for.

One practical need we can help meet.

One opportunity to show the love we've been reading about in God's Word.

Girl, we're walking in the Scriptures.

And with God's help, we're learning to put what we read into action.
